The Material:

The biggest difference between the two cookware sets is the material they are constructed from…

  • Multiclad Pro, a more of a premium cookware set, is constructed from Tri-ply, which is an alumium core with a layer of brushed stainless steel exterior and stainless steel interior. This is more durable, heavier, and it has better heat distribution.
  • The Chef’s Classic set is made of stainless steel, but has aluminum base, which still gives you good heat distribution from the bottom, but as the aluminum doesn’t wrap around like it is with Multiclad Pro, it doesn’t have the same Surround Heat effect.

The Lids:

  • The Multiclad Pro has full stainless steel lids.
  • The Chef’s Classic has glass lids with stainless steel handles.

The French Classic cookware set by Cuisinart is another Tri-ply constructed set, available as a 10-piece or 13-piece. So what makes these different than the Multiclad Pro set, which is also Tri-ply?

Although the French Classic and Multiclad Pro are made from the same material (but what’s included in the set may vary, please refer to each listing to know what’s in each set), there’s a huge price difference between the two. This price difference comes from the fact that the French Classic is made in France, while the Multiclad Pro is made from China.

Other differences include:

  • More comfortable handles on the French Classic Set.
  • The French Classic doesn’t have tapered rims like the Multiclad Pro.

Which Of These Cookware Sets Should You Choose?

  • If quality and where your products are made make a difference to you, then you’ll want the French Classic set, which is made in France. However, it doesn’t come cheap. For almost the same qualities as the Multiclad Pro, you’ll pay double the price. So, that’s something to think about.
  • What you need in your cookware set (pots, pans… etc.) will also affect your choice. The Multiclad Pro and Chef’s Classic almost have the same items, but the French Classic is different.
  • If you require the lids to be glass, out of these cookware sets, the Chef’s Classic is the only one that has them. The Multiclad Pro and French Classic have full stainless steel lids.
  • If you’re on a tight budget, the Chef’s Classic is the most affordable set of them. Although it is less in quality in comparison, it is still great quality for the price.
