Delta’s Pull-down kitchen faucets are among the most popular on our site and some of the best selling on Amazon. In this post, I’ll be focusing on Delta’s Trinsic collection of pull down kitchen faucets. If you’ve been thinking of buying this model, this post should help answer your questions.

What Is Delta Trinsic Kitchen Faucet?

There are several things that set the Trinsic Collection from others by Delta, either from design or technology perspective. Here’s what you can expect from the Trinsic collection (some features are available on specific models only):

Design wise, the Trinsic collection has a very modern and sleek design.

Tech wise, you should find these impressive features:

  • MagnaTite Docking: a feature in the pull down spray head that uses magnets to secure the head in place when not in use. So unlike cheaper faucets, the spray head will never dangle.
  • Touch2O Technology: this touch sensor allows you to turn on or off the water flow just by touching any part of the faucet or handle. So whether your hands are messy or full, you don’t need to drop down everything in hand to turn the water on/off, touch your faucet with your write, arm or even the back of your hand to operate it.
  • TempSense LED light changes color to alert you of the water’s temperature.
  • Touch-Clean Spray Holes: Rubber spray holes allows for easy cleaning with a simple wipe of a finger.

Available Finishes:

Trinsic faucets are available in these finishes: Chrome, Arctic Stainless Steel, Matte Black, Champagne Bronze and Black Stainless Steel.

Features of Delta Trinsic Pull Down Kitchen Faucet:

  • Single-handle pull down kitchen faucet.
  • Diamond Seal technology: patented technology that reduces lead points and lasts twice as long as the industry standard. It ensures leak-free operation for the life of the faucet.
  • Magnetic docking uses a powerful magnet located in the sprayer’s head so it snaps back into place after use and remains securely in place.
  • Touch-Clean rubber holes in the sprayer makes cleaning any calcium or lime build-up as easy as wiping it away with your finger.

If you drink your water right out of the tap, then you probably know that a water filtration system is a must-have to ensure the safest water to drink. Water filtration systems for kitchen faucets are quite popular and inexpensive. But if you happen to be in the market for a new faucet as well as a water filter, we recommend you check out a complete solution, a faucet with a built-in water filter.

Why Choose a Kitchen Faucet With Built-In Water Filter?

You might be wondering, why would you choose to buy a faucet with built-in water filter when you can simply just by any water filtration system. Do you even need a water filter for your kitchen faucet? Well, here are a few points to help you decide:

  • A water filter for your faucet cleans out chlorine, minerals, lead or any possible poisonous material that could be in your water.
  • If you use tap water for your coffee maker or electric water boiler, filtered water ensures your appliances will remain clean of any mineral build-ups, and your beverages will taste better.
  • You’ll save a lot of money by not buying bottled water.
  • When buying a faucet with built-in water filter, you are guaranteed a seamless integration between the two. Buying the faucet and filter separately could lead to a lot of time wasted on finding the right filter to fit your new faucet.
  • Built-in filtration systems are under-sink. So they don’t take space or take a way from your faucet’s look and design.
  • Built-in filtration systems dispense water faster than on-tap filters.

The two faucets are a lot similar to each other, in design and function. However, there are features in faucet that make them stand apart:

  • The Moen Align has a dramatic height to it, around 22″ height in its arch, which gives you a lot of space to move large cookware under it. It also has more hose reach, up to 4x any other competitive residential faucet of the same type. And last but not least, it has PowerClean function, which gives it 50% more spray power than any other Moen faucet.
  • The Delta Trinsic doesn’t have the same height as the Moen, but it’s still high enough at 18 3/4″. It has a great MagnaTite feature, which is an integrated magnet in the dock that brings the hose back up and holds it in its space when not in use.

Since both faucets are sold at around the same price range, we’re leaning towards the Moen faucet for its arch height, which will make all the difference for anyone who uses large pots and cookware. The PowerClean feature of the spray is great, too. Who doesn’t want a powerful spray that will push down stubborn mess and clean the dishes faster.

What Is a Touchless Kitchen Faucet?

Moen-Arbor-Life-Wave

A touchless, or motion-activated faucet is a new type of kitchen faucet that can be turned on by simply waving to the sensor in the faucet. Depending on the model of the faucet, this sensor is placed either on the bottom, near where the faucet handle usually is, or on top of the faucet.

Why Use a Motion-activated Faucet?

The kitchen is a very busy place. You hands are always full, you’re either holding something or your hands are smudge and need cleaning. So imagine a faucet that turns on automatically simply by sensing you’ve put something in the sink? That is incredibly helpful, it also eliminates contaminations that could be caused by touching different things at the same time.

This type of faucet is a true innovation that makes your kitchen work a lot simpler.

How Does a Touchless Kitchen Faucet Work?

*Video above demonstrates Kohler’s Sensate Faucet*

When it comes to touchless, motion-activated faucets, you have two options:

  • You can use the sensors to operate the faucet hands-free.
  • Or you can use it manually, like any other type of faucet.

When using the motion-sensor, the sensor will automatically detect the motion of your hand in front of it and it will start the water flow. It is that simple.

For most touchless faucet brands, controlled the temperature of the motion-controlled water is done by a separate control unit. You’ll set your desired temperature and it will stay that way until you change it. As for the water flow, it can be adjusted using the faucet handle.

Do I Need Electric Supply To Operate The Motion Sensor?

This will depend on what brand of faucet you choose. There are faucets that use batteries only, others use an AC adapter, and some faucets give you the option to use this or that.

What Is The Best Touchless Motion Activated Faucet To Buy?

We’ve created a list of the best rated touchless faucets that you can read by clicking here.

What To Look For When Choosing a Touchless Kitchen Faucet:

Kohler-Sensate-Touchless-Kitchen-Faucet

When looking for a touchless faucets, you’ll come across lots of models and brands at a wide range of prices, which can make picking on a hard job. There are a few things that you should keep in mind when choosing the best faucet for your kitchen:

– Where Is The Motion Sensor Placed?

Some faucets have the motion sensor on the spout, others on the top or bottom. Where the sensor is placed will affect how you operate it.

For example, the Moen Arbor has two sensors. On top is the Wave Sensor which starts and stops water flow by waving. On the base, it has the Ready sensor, which identifies objects when you place them in the sink.

– How Does The Sensor Power On?

Some faucets only use a power-supply to power on, if that’s the case with your chosen faucet, then you need to make sure you have a power outlet near the sink. Otherwise, you can go for a faucet with a battery-operated sensor.

Other things to consider is the height of the faucet, the length of the pull-out hose and specifications regarding installation.

What’s The Difference Between Stainless Steel, Spotshield Stainless Steel and Arctic Stainless Steel?

When picking a faucet and choosing the right finish, you might get confused over these names. They’re all stainless steel, but with some variation:

  • Stainless Steel is the traditional finish that we’ve all come to love. It’s usually the most practical choice as it’s affordable and easy to clean and maintain.
  • Spotshield Stainless Steel is a kind of stainless steel with added coating that makes your faucet look spotless for a longer time. The coating protects the faucet from water spots or fingerprints. This type of stainless steel usually has muted finish.
  • Arctic Stainless Steel is the same as traditional stainless steel, but it has a matte finish. The shade of it is more on the gray/blue undertones (hence the name Arctic) as opposed to the yellowish/gray undertone of traditional stainless steel.

Which One Do You Choose?

I hope this will help you understand the difference between these three faucets and make a better buying decision!

Now we’ve discussed the difference between a pull down and a pull out kitchen faucet, there’s yet another feature worth discussing: single vs. double handles faucets.

In this case, the difference is quite obvious; the single handle faucet has one handle that you can use to balance flow and water temperature, while a double-handle uses two separate handles for the same task.

The questions is, which is better: a single handle or double-handle kitchen faucet?

Single-handle faucets seem to be preferred for many reasons:

  • They’re more practical and easier to use.
  • Setting your preferred temperature and flow is much easier.
  • Easier to install.
  • Looks wise, they’re more on the modern side, if that’s what you prefer.
  • On the down side, after a while of work (this could be years), they tend to leak faster than a double-handle faucet.

As for Double-handle faucets:

  • They’re less practical.
  • You need to balance between two faucets you get your preferred temperature.
  • They’re also inconvenient in the kitchen, if you’ve got your hands full or smudged, controlling two handles can be hard.
  • However, they can give you more precise temperature.Harder to install, yet still doable on your own.
  • They’re more on the classical side when it comes to style.

Which Is Best? Single Or Double Handle Faucets?

It truly comes down to your own personal taste in look and in how you work. Personally, I find a single-handle faucet to be more convenient when it comes to kitchens. They’re easier to use when you’ve got your hand full, and easier to install.

We’ve already covered Pull down kitchen faucets, but we’re still yet to get to pull down faucets. Before we do that, we know that there are many people who are still not sure of the difference between the two type of kitchen faucets. So our post today will be a comparison between the two.

Pull Down vs. Pull Out Kitchen Faucets: What Is the Difference and Which Is Best?

Pull down vs Pull out faucets

Basically, both pull down and pull out kitchen faucets serve the same purpose, the head of the faucet can be pulled and detached to be easily used to wash and clean. It also offers you either water stream or spray to even extend its function. So, what would make you choose one over the other? Here’s a few pointers to keep in mind:

Pull Down Faucets:

  • It has a higher arch, which means you can fit bigger pots, higher pitchers and so on under it.
  • It is easier to grab. It feels more natural to pull down and more comfortable.
  • On the con side, because it is higher, this can lead to more splashing action than you’d like.

Pull Out Faucets:

  • It doesn’t have a high arch, the faucets pulls right towards you.
  • Better for smaller spaces.
  • It doesn’t splash.
  • On the con side, it doesn’t fit tall pots or pitchers.

Which Is Better? A Pull Down or a Pull Out Faucet?

Like we’ve already mentioned, both serve the same purpose and are quite similar. So, how do you decide which to go for?

  • It all depends on the type of work you do at your kitchen. Do you normally use big pots? Do you have a large sink that gives you bigger room for a large faucet? Then a pull down can work nicely for you.
  • If you have a small working space, don’t cook for many people, have fewer dishes to clean. you’ll be perfectly happy with a pull out faucet. It’s smaller in size and gives you similar functions to a pull down faucet but more fit to your lifestyle.

It’s worth mentioning that there’s also smaller size pull down faucets that would be perfect for a smaller kitchen. Some examples of pull down or pull out kitchen faucets:
